Andrenaline Rush in the Forest

Nothing beats a day filled with adrenaline rush in a serene and pristine area, just being one with nature. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what to expect when going to experience the adrenaline at the Forest in kereita. Kereita forest is Located in Kimende area near Kijabe, the indigenous forest is a must visit location for a day trip. It only is a forty five minute drive to Kereita from Nairobi. On the way make sure to stop at the Rift valley Viewpoints to take some awesome photos with your fellow adventurers. Moreover one can also buy souvenirs at the curio shops for memorabilia.

On reaching the Forest one gets to pay for their tickets for fun activities. Some of these activities include: Paintball, Mountain Biking, Zip Line which is a must do, Archery, Tree Planting as well as team building activities. For the zip line as well as other activities such as archery some short training course is given on what to do before venturing into the sport, you know the better safe than sorry kind of thing.
Instructor Mr. Diinesh Thakur helping out a client to Zip line….

Here is a 9 year old enjoying his best time zip-lining at the Forest..

Children are as well allowed to engage in zip lining , its fun for all.

It is only when one passes the training that he or she can advance to the real deal. Also get ready for some stretches with the instructor. They seem absurd but they surely help. All the adrenaline rush that comes due to these activities is surely worth it.

The Forest is known to be one of the best places to pursue hiking. Being part and parcel of the Aberdares Ecosystem the chilliness of the area reduces the uphill task of venturing into the Forest.  The Forest has interesting Hiking trails through which one gets a life changing experience on the importance of environmental conservation.

Our clients hiking in the forest on 28th January...

As one starts the hike, at this stage, one hikes through large open clearings which were as a result of part of the forest being cleared for settlement. On going deeper and further into the forest one experiences the richness in biodiversity of the forest.

This area depicts what the forest would look like if there were more efforts on the conservation of indigenous forests. Creepers, Climbers as well as thick undergrowth are the order of the day.

Time of relaxation at the Forest....

Chattering of monkeys such as the vervet, Colobus can be heard in a distance as different bird species echo their sweet songs. After hiking for some time it’s important to relax before finding your way back and also to allow more time to the nature lovers to connect with nature.Once in a while herds of elephants are known to frolic here in the cool waters of the ‘lake’ Moving on one beholds the Kereita Waterfall
Our clients  sharing light moments while relaxing....

Adjacent to the cave waterfalls the cave however not much of exploring has been done therefore making it a bats’ lair. The falls give an ideal scene to Take lots of photos and also allow people rest after long time of trekking
At the Falls....
Munch on some snacks and take some water to re-energize. Depending on the time, the ‘explorers’ can decide to use an alternative route back to the offset point. One can decide to use the Bamboo Zone as a route back.
